Step 1. What you will need; Paper, a light pencil crayon, a soft pencil, eraser, and a black waterproof fiber tipped pen. Let's begin. First let me show you how I sketch my first rough. Using the light colored pencil crayon, (I prefer a sky blue, though any color will do, - green, pink), and we'll lightly draw the neck, tail and backbone, with a nice fluid line.

BE BOLD! At this stage of the drawing, we can be as daring as we like , don't worry if you get it wrong, simply draw over it lightly until YOU like it.

Step 2. We can then loosely sketch in an oval shape, roughly where the head should be, and mark out where we think the shoulders and hips might go. Remember this is only our first rough, we can alter anything we don't like at a later stage of the drawing. 

I'm using different colored pencils at every step to make it easier to see what is new, you can carry on using the same pencil throughout this stage.
