the Serious Bit

"...I decided to write "Jamie Drum's Massive Recovery", when my niece Kerry, and my sister in law Sharifa were both diagnosed as having cancer. I had heard or read somewhere that Visualising was an effective aid in the fight against cancer. So, I went out to buy them a book on the subject, unfortunately I couldn't find any books that dealt solely with visualising and disease, and the books that did, either skated over the subject in one or two paragraphs, or dealt with visualising in a sober academic manner, preaching to the converted, if you like.

I felt then it was necessary to write my own book, in a style that was easily understood and accessible to everyone, and I hope this comes across. Although "Jamie Drum's Massive Recovery" is a cartoon novel the message within must be a serious one, I believe that Visualising can work, if used correctly as an aidto, and not as an alternative to orthodox medicine, but then what do I know? I'm not a pigging Doctor."

Paul Davies

If you are confronted with a serious illness like Jamie Drum, her are Drakes 'Top Ten Tips.' to help
you through it;

Confront your disease. Don't deny it exists. Be positive, don't let it beat you.

Find out as much as you can about your disease; from books, your doctor, medical staff.
What causes it, where is it located in your body.

Find out about your body; it's defence mechanisms, what your medication's function is, and
how you can aid it.

Learn to relax. You can use your imagination more effectively when both mind and body are totally relaxed.

Use your imagination, don't limit yourself to the characters suggested in this book, use your favorite computer game sprite, comic book hero, or character from your favorite book or movie.

Only use this technique with your prescribed medication.

Have fun with your movie.

You are in control.

This is not just for kids, if you know anyone of any age who needs help,
tell them about visualising.

It's not your Fault.
